Two books about urban legends in Poland. They present chilling stories while also drawing attention to social unrest triggered by the political and social situation in Poland, including issues such as communism and immigration.

In creating these two books, I explored the origins of social fears through the analysis of specific contemporary myths. Each booklet contains multiple versions of a given legend, aiming to evoke fear, but varying in details depending on the time and place where they were told.

The illustrations, much like the time that has passed since the first urban legend was heard, add a sense of drama to the depicted scenes. The amusing illustrations turn what was once our nightmare into a humorous anecdote.
In these booklets, I focused on two very popular legends in Poland. One originated during the PRL era, namely the legend of the Black Volga, while the other was its modified version that emerged in the late '90s, known as the legend of the Black Ambulance.
