Tapeta przedstawia obrys miasta Neustadt Halle – jednego z pilotażowych „idealnych” miast w byłym NRD, gdzie ulice, zamiast nazw, mianowane były kolejnymi numerami. Plany urbanistów i architektów spotkały się tutaj z realiami oraz oczekiwaniem władz na szybkie wypełnienie luki mieszkaniowej. „Idealne” miasto musiało zostać zagęszczone i ujednolicone. W rezultacie monochromatyczny pejzaż zabudowy mieszkalnej zadziałał jak biały szum, który zagłuszył wszelkie przejawy indywidualizmu.
Dziś Neustadt Halle pogrążyło się w kryzysie wyludnienia, a władze nie nadążają z wyburzaniem kolejnych pustostanów. Tam gdzie ulice zamiast nazw mają liczby ludzie również łatwo stają się tylko numerem w statystykach i nic dziwnego, że te numery uciekają nie tylko za pracą, za lepszym życiem ale także w poszukiwaniu tożsamości, człowieczeństwa.
The wallpaper depicts the outline of Neustadt Halle – one of the pilot "ideal" cities in the former GDR, where streets, instead of having names, were designated by sequential numbers. Here, the plans of urban planners and architects collided with reality and the authorities' expectation to quickly fill the housing gap. The "ideal" city had to be compacted and standardized. As a result, the monochromatic landscape of residential buildings acted like white noise, drowning out any signs of individuality. Today, Neustadt Halle has sunk into a crisis of depopulation, and the authorities cannot keep up with demolishing the increasing number of vacant buildings. In a place where streets have numbers instead of names, people, too, easily become just numbers in statistics. It is no surprise that these numbers flee—not only in search of work and a better life but also in search of identity and humanity.
